BRYCE'S DAY

It has been a long~ slow process and tons of work but the day has finally arrived!! The day of the Statue Dedication that my nephew Bryce modeled for last year. It was a great day for Bryce and the city of Naperville ! tons of people showed up to show thier support. That Boy alone had lots of guests. His family from Arkansas, His grandparents from Iowa and Lyons IL. Us, My brother James, and friends from Romeoville and New Lenox, It was great having that little time to catch up w/ old friends and seeing Helen and Herb Bosley again~ of coarse what is a celebration with out The Star Spangled Banner and some lively music. The Washington Jr. High Jazz band & choir did an outstanding job at performing this task ~ and some very thoughtful people of various organizations provided snacks and drinks inside the school library which was air conditioned. After we bid farewell to all our friends~ The family gathered @ Cheddars to eat and celebrate The day Bryce became famous~ @ 7 pm tonight we said our good- byes to our out-of-state vistors and wished them safe travels til next time they will depart in the morning. So if your ever in downtown Naperville ( by the museun) near School St. you can see the statue on the left ~ and for those who like to read~ probaly a local Naperville newspaper.

Great Reading

I'm happy to report I've put away my sudoku puzzles for the time being, for the fact being is I've found some great books that I've been enjoying very much here lately. So much so I find it hard to put them down~ and just wanted to share.

1. Miriam's Well~ Stories about women in the Bible~ by Alice Bach & J. Cheryl Exum.( very good book and interesting too- I did learn alot of things.)

2. Songs of Glory~ stories of 300 great hyms & gospel songs~ by William J. Reynolds. ( absolutely fascinating.)

When I came across this second book, I was actually looking for the version I've seen in several of your homes but had no luck, so if you could help me out with title and author ? It would be greatly appreciated. Thank You!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have not only been learning exciting things from books, but from family trees. I learned that a Mary Alice ~ an Indian had married a Slone ancestor back in the 1700's whom after bearing several children and living til a ripe age was found dead without her head. Believed to be the result of her disloyality to her own people. I also learned that my hubby has many more uncles and aunts than I orignally thought, While I've met some of them~~ many others are deceased. ~~ I find all this exciting and had it not been for my Hubby sending me to search a different site I would of never gotten here.
FUN !!
It was a nice afternoon well spent, spending time with Kris and visiting the Lindahl's. Talk about beautiful~~ it was pretty inside and out. That new bathroom we've heard so much about is really nice- I took a peek while getting the grand tour. We spent the good majority of time outside~ where the little ones played on the trampoline or the swing set~~ each group of children took turns jumping and the little ones loved it, the biggest kids also. I'm talking Jeffery and James who were hard at work on break time!! I enjoyed the fellowship, and the laughter of the children. Gina even got in on the fun~~ climbing into the trampoline to play ring-around-the- rosy with the little ones. She was such a good host to us all. I've included a slide-show for all to enjoy, it's the post below, but 1st I wanted to share another cute pic of you guessed it!! Paige and Matthew.
Days gone by....
This past weeks little 2 days of cool~~ not warm enough to play outdoors was a great blessing. I accomplished allot!! I got the kids rooms cleaned and organized, mopped the front room, and got caught up with some laundry. Are you ready to be amazed? I actually emptied my laundry basket w/ all those papers that I believed I needed. The majority of them needed shredding while only a handful needed filing away. If I can keep up the pace~without hitting to many more snags The garbage men are gonna think I went Mad again because I threw out quite a few bags and its not even Wednesday morning yet!! I don't know whether to be excited or tired from the work ahead. I just know the more I do , the better I feel. Thank you to all who know how I've been down about this situation for your prayers. I can diffidently say The Lord has been working and continues to always to give me the strength I need even if its only baby steps to keep moving forward. Thank You God for answered prayers.
`````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Well Since I'm on the topic of last week, I figured it would be nice to update you on the matter of Jackie's ankle. It has healed but is still very week. She had the choice or should I say I made the decision for her. We opted for at home exercise to make said ankle stronger~~ because I wasn't about to drive to Naperville several times a week for therapy when she could do the same things at home. Please continue to pray for her~~she will still need to wear the leg brace for another six weeks and do the exercises to strengthen the ankle before the doctor will release her to try out for next years sports teams. Thank You.

I've made some changes

Well I'm here with a new look, something more uplifting with some softer color. I changed it ~~ well because the blogger people made some changes, and I couldn't find where people could comment. That's part of all the fun~~ to see who's looking ~ isn't it? so here goes......

Yesterday Matthew and I spent the whole afternoon w/ Kris, Paige, and Quinten and had all kinds of fun enjoying the great outdoors, us adults had other plans but in alot more ways, this was far less stressful and alot more fun. The stores can wait. These pics to follow are of Matthew or rather At-ew as Paige calls him and of her. They were just to irrestable! not to share.

The following was an e-mail sent to me by my mother and thought I'd just share it. And a great daily reminder it is!!!

Rules from God for 2007
1. Wake Up !! Decide to have a good day. "Today is the day the Lord hath made; let us rejoice and be glad in it" Psalms 118:24

2. Dress Up !! The best way to dress up is to put on a smile. A smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks. "The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at outward appearance; but the Lord looks at the heart." I Samuel 16:7

3. Shut Up!! Say nice things and learn to listen. God gave us two ears and one mouth, so He must have meant for us to do twice as much listening as talking. "He who guards his lips guards his soul." Proverbs 13:3.
4. Stand Up!!... For what you believe in. Stand for something or you will fall for anything.. "Let us not be weary in doing good; for at the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good..." Galatians 6:9-10

5. Look Up !!... To the Lord. "I can do everything through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13

6. Reach Up !!... For something higher. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him, And He will direct your path." Proverbs 3:5-6

7. Lift Up !!... Your Prayers. "Do not worry about anything; Instead PRAY ABOUT EVERYTHING." Philippians 4:6

The six newest questions.

Well we've been tagged again, this time by Mrs. Julie and you know me I couldn't resist the urge to respond to questions no matter how hard they seem to be.

1. What was your most embarrassing moment? When I vomited all over the eye doctor's bathroom here in town several years ago. I didn't feel well and went looking for the restroom which I found a little too late. ( right room, wrong target) ( I still feel embarrassed when I go there)

2. When you go to heaven some day, what is one question you would like to ask God? I never thought about it, I figured it would be God asking the questions and me giving the answers.

3. What is your favorite color? Blue

4. What is your favorite food? I love McMuffins,and steak tacos, okay I admit it, I like steak the best of all food.

5. What do you admire most about your husband? His gentleness and Patience.

6. What is your biggest fear or phobia? That my children will turn out like me, and live a life with depression.

I'M A MANDARIN

You're an intellectual, and you've worked hard to get where you are now. You're a strong believer in education, and you think many of the world's problems could be solved if people were more informed and more rational. You have no tolerance for sloppy or lazy thinking. It frustrates you when people who are ignorant or dishonest rise to positions of power. You believe that people can make a difference in the world, and you're determined to try.
Your scores: -Talent: 38%Lifer: 51%Mandarin: 62% Take the Talent, Lifer, or Mandarin quiz
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I got this goofy quiz off of Karen (Kare Bear)'s blog and thought it was right on target. I must confess I did it several times but it still comes back to this. While I do believe education is very important, I also believe in having and maintaining a relationship with God and having a prayer life. I might have worked hard- to get where I am but it was by the Lord's Grace and the support of a large family that I made it this far.

THANK YOU GOD FOR PROVIDING ME WITH PEOPLE WHO CARE. Love , Kim
